The Blind Watchmaker by Richard Dawkins

Its a popular science book on evolutionary theory. Its quite technical but anyone with a GCSE understanding of biology should understand the science and i have learnt a lot from the book. I am about 70 pages from the end.

Sounds, exactly like your sort of thing Professor Cuntsworthy.

I am re-reading the middle book in Paul Auster's New York Trilogy.
Ghosts.
One of the best things i have ever read.

The whole trilogy is really.

I should finish it today or tomorrow.

After that im not sure what to read. Probably Kafka or Alice in Wonderland.

I love kafka.
I also love kafka on the shore by Haruki Murakami.

I havent read Murakami but i love his name. But yeah i think Alice in Wonderland will be my next read.

Haruki Murakami is my favourite writer.
I have read like 6 of his novels.
All of them are amazing.

But Alice in wonderland is a great choice.
One of lecturers has got a novel out that is a potmodern adaptation of alice in wonderland.
I dont plan to read it, because i bet that it will be cack.

im currently reading philip k dick's ubik.
im sure Professor Cuntsworthy will agree its a mindfuck.
im thinking about buying valis. the textual equivalent of taking LSD

Ubik is awesome and i just about understand it. VALIS is pure mindwarp. From what i understand its autobiographical about an experience he had with an entity he calls God. Its basically him piecing his mind together after a massive mental breakdown.

i never finished it.

one of the characters in Kafka on the shore is colonel sanders. Who is a pimp.
One is both sexes,
one can talk to cats.
One is a cat killer who plans to make a flute out of cats souls.
another sleeps with his mother, (in fact most of the book is about the oedipal complex)
erm and other kinds of shit happens.

during the course of ubik, the time that the charcters exist in slowly recedes from the future to 1918, with only the main characters noticing. the reason is because they are being eaten by a teenager

In kafka on the shore it rains fish.

In Will Self's How The Dead Live.

An old lady dies and moves to a borough in London for dead people. Whilst there she watches over her family. And her heroin addict daughter is pregnant. Whilst she is pregnant the mother has an existential crisis and has her dead self killed only to be reborn within her daughter's child complete with all her memories as an old lady.

in ubik a spraycan is used to restore your eaten life force

In kafka on the shore the main character goes into a forest and meets two soldiers that are completely unchanged from world war 2.

the final line of ubik is
'this was just the beginning'
best closing line ever

Very much so. he wrote a mix of horror and sci-fi that was very unique.
