I own The Wall, not watched it, my motivation to watch it has decreased.

It was on Film 4 once. Watched about twenty minutes and got bored.

2,500th post win.
Oh.. err.. are you still talking about The Wall?
I have nothing to add to this discussion, having not watched it... yet...
Except, y'know, the 2,500th post win.
Which is really nothing.
You know what?
I haven't watched a film recently, and I'm damn proud of it!
Now, where's the thread for that?

I just watched Rushmore. I loved it. Wes Anderson tells real good stories. Plus I adore Bill Murray.
4/5 stars from me.

JSA was really good. Not as good as The Vengeance Trilogy but it was still very good. It was a bit hard to understand because the timeframe was a bit 'loose' however.Look at my Dogs wrote:andrews wrote:Finally lovefilm are sending I'm A Cyborg. yeh, i had a lecture on Park Chan wook the other week,
they said that JSA is difficult to appreciate becuase it is mostly about korean politics and will only be fully appreciated if you are korean/ or have a personal understanding of korean politics.
I read somewhere that spielberg and will smith are doing the oldboy remake
Whats your thoughts on that?

I'm finding it hard to contain my anger. It will be so damn awful. They will remove the octopus scene which is key to understand Oh Dae Su's mental state and they wont be able to portray his psychological profile well at all i think.Look at my Dogs wrote:andrews wrote:JSA was really good. damn right.
i bet they take any reference to incest out at all.
and no way are they going to make the evil guy (i forget his name) that evil.
They are really going to water it down.

But the incest is key to the plot. In fact the entire plot resides on that.Look at my Dogs wrote:andrews wrote:I'm finding it hard to contain my anger. It will be so damn awful. To be honest i cannot see them leaving it in. Or they will totally tone it down and remove all punchyness from the film.Look at my Dogs wrote:andrews wrote:But the incest is key to the plot. In fact the entire plot resides on that.

i agree,
but park's is reall humble about it,
he says that because he adapted it from a graphic novel he hopes they will adapt from the graphic novel and gain a completely new insight and interpretation into the story.

I feel the way about this remake as I do about watching the original version with American dubbing.
Awful.

Re: The 'films that people have seen recently' thread.
i think that spielberg is a very clever director, and will acknowledge the fact that the original was loved for what it was. of course it will be watered down for a western audience, but remember, this guy had the balls to make schindler's list. give him some credit at least.
as for will smith... well, for now im unconvinced, but i can be persuaded

Yeah, but that was 16 years ago.TheCapu wrote:i think that spielberg is a very clever director, and will acknowledge the fact that the original was loved for what it was. of course it will be watered down for a western audience, but remember, this guy had the balls to make schindler's list. give him some credit at least.

Re: The 'films that people have seen recently' thread.
godawful BLOCKBUSTERS, thats the point
when he wants to make a good film, not a film with the masses, then he certainly can. i agree id rather this didnt happen, but it wont be the train-wreck it seems

So.....
I'm A Cyborg is brilliant.
I can now make a list of my favourite Park Chan Wook films:
Oldboy
Sympathy For Mr Vengeance
I'm A Cyborg
Sympathy For Lady Vengeance
Joint Security Area
Cut (only bad film he has made).
Although according to Wiki i havent seen all his films. Those are the main ones and the ones that are not impossible to see.
I hope this is on form.

This reminds me, burzum forgot to give me the trilogy wednesday. I think he was too distracted by Martin selling him xboxes on the bus.
