I'm A Cyborg was so funny and heartwarming. And the bizarre cyborg dream scenes are amazing.
My favourite bit was when the guy supposedly stole thursday.

Re: The 'films that people have seen recently' thread.
saw drag me to hell last night on the ol' orange wednesdays.
didnt really know what i was expecting from it, what with the current horror scene at the moment.
have to admit though, the film is fantastic.
in true raimi style it is hilarious, over the top, ridiculous and very, very scary.
one of the best horror films i have seen.
just because it doesnt take itself seriously, but never calls itself a comedy.
it allows you to take what you want from it.
it is both subtle and completely over the top.
oh, and it has mckenna from tucker as the lead. tucker was the best show ever.

I do recommend it highly.
Not your typical saw, slasher, gore fest that is plaguing cinema at the moment.

And make no mistake, it -is- a plague.
In fact, it's so contagious, it's spreading to games.
...and many media products for that matter.
Is there a Saw game?
Or has it been pre-emptively nixed by the BBFC for presumably being too damn violent and/or shit?
Although I don't think the BBFC pay attention to whether or not a product is shit or not.
It would certainly account for the recent upsurge in saw, slasher, gore fest popularity.
Oh, and the new Transformers film.

public enemies > synecdoche new york??
well sir, that is a bold statement indeed.
i too am looking forward greatly to district 9. also, dr parnassus has got an october release date.
so looks like 'best film of 2009' may be a crowded field after all...

giving a director complete creative control just because peter jackson is the producer seems like a genius idea to me.
sounds like it could have the donnie darko effect.
kelly had creative control because drew barrymore produed.
also i saw the advert for s.darko on tv. made me want to tug on my testicles until they ripped off or the advert finished.
Whose idiot idea was the film??

i think the only way to answer that is by announcing that it has 4.0 on imdb.
oh, and also by saying that a third film is currently in the works.

They are also saying that kelly could be involved.
is that a good idea. Or will it confirm that donnie darko was just a fluke on his part.
although i am hoping that the box will be good. Ages till its release yet though.

Re: The 'films that people have seen recently' thread.
just watched all 8 episodes of David Lynch's Rabbit series.
gotta be one of the scariest things i have ever seen.
has anyone else seen it,
i know that lee has.
what did you think? should we talk interpretations, or not bother.

Re: The 'films that people have seen recently' thread.
saw moon last night.
i take back what i said about public enemies being best film of the year, because this realy takes the top spot.
and for being the director's debut this is just outstanding.
oh, and capu i need you to see it, because me and lissa are arguing about the ending, and like usual we both have opposing theories.
but it really would be the kind of film you would lap up capu.

i enjoyed it too.
lissa made me watch it, against my will.
i thought it was just gonna be another shitty horror film. but it is pretty good.
angrily though, they are making a sequel, were the girl survives and the other girl goes back in to look for her.
and they are changing the monsters.
idiot studios.

Especially considering the excellent ending of the original leaving it open entirely for speculation.
