Re: Film News
just because you started a thread, gilbey, doesnt mean it deserves to be stickied.
in this case its probly fair, but if people dont start actually talking about film news soon then surely action must be taken.
news y'say? well... the box has been released in america. ebert is a fan. not many other people are

Re: Film News
Rejoice! For The Film News Thread, in association with Cinematical, bring you this piece of breaking news!
The Shenanigens of Wesley Snipes
An interesting question arises here... if not Smith, then who?
Who would work for a Western audience but still be intense enough to retain the characters' brilliance?

Thats pretty funny. Although there are tons of rip offs of popular films like:
48 Weeks Later etc.

Fixed.
"What's Up?" is a Finnish (?) short animated film which I believe is in the pre-production stage right now, and has absolutely nothing to do with the travesty that is "What's Up".

Re: Film News
May I suggest that anyone who doesn't have a PSN account get one now as Sony have finally decided to release the Video Store for the UK.
Over 800 films are available now to buy and rent in SD or to rent in HD.
The rental prices don't seem to bad either. It seems a HD rental is about £3.50!
You can also browse the films here! (click on the film studio logos at the bottom of the page)

Re: Film News
Normally it is Westerners namely Americans pillaging Asian and European classics. But now it is the other way round.
An Asian remake of The Coen's Blood Simple is in the works. It will be called Amazing Tales: Three Guns and will be based around a noodle shop instead of a Texas town.

Re: Film News
You will be extremely relieved to know that the Oldboy remake is NOT going to happen any more!

I would be extremely relieved,
had someone not already posted an article on this here forum about the cancellation of the project IN THIS VERY THREAD.
Hold on.. I feel some modding coming on, courtesy of THE MODROD!
EDIT: um.. THE MODROD is some kind of a modding team, apparently.. um..

this is relevant to my interests.
although i must say, it does sound suspiciously similar to what is thought to be the plot of "Paul", the new pegg and frost film. we shall see...
Re: Film News
Remember Sharlto Copley? Wikus "Get your fokkin' tentacle out of my face!" Van De Merwe from District 9? Who is mysteriously attractive.
Well, he's playing Murdock in the A Team movie out next year.
I was like, "Whaaaaaa?!"
I'll be seeing it now.

Re: Film News
@Above post: That does sound quite epic.

This is worse than The Descent Part 2, especially when there will also be a third one.

Re: Film News
Sharlto Copley is such a cool name.
And BOO to possibly unneeded sequels. Although I have seen none of the movies you have stated in that post. But I do know sequels and Hollywood remakes of horror films make you spit chips.
