The people involved in this debate were a gardener, a woman who is involved in the adult movies industry and a former editor of The Sun. Oh, and a few words were spoken (when he was allowed the chance) by the editor of computerandvideogames.com. There's Ben?! loads of experience in the games industry for a fair, informed debate to take place isn't there. (Yes, that was sarcasm)

Thank god anyone with something upstairs knows this show is full of shite otherwise the opinions of the twats (not the games editor) here would be spreading throughout the country now.

How does the show's "sexpert" have any right to comment on violent video games?! If violent video games are banned, so should adult videos because they can get into the hands of kids if the parents are not careful!

I always love how they mention games rewarding violence. But never mention any counter examples for example the metal gear solid series which penalises violence in terms of the rating you recieve at the end of the game and in the case of snake eater in which the difficulty of one of the boss battles is directly linked to the amunt of enemies you have killed in the game up until that point.

The way the 'battle' works is that the more people you have killed the more ghosts he summons to attack you. Sure it might not be profound but its still anti-violence in a game which is firmly anti-war and anti-nuke.

But of course that doesnt fit the tone they wanted for the show they wanted a witch hunt not honest journalism.

They're banning violent video games in Switzerland. Is that what they talk about is this video, cos I didn't watch it.

That is essentially the gist of it. Except they are not discussing legislation just games being violent. Interestingly i discussed this with my mum in game today. About how games are clearly age rated and often it is easier to identify an adult game than it is an adult film. I mean adult as in violent or in terms of language not sexual content obviously.

And the editor of computerandvideogames.com made a truly excellent point about the torture porn genre of movies which have no purpose other than to take pleasure from viewing the torture and pain of others. No matter how violent games get i cannot imagine them making that leap.
